A new year is a new beginning. We rethink our lives every New Year. We dream of how the year will unfold. We envision and draw mental pictures. We talk about our projects, our plans. We tweet about them. We fill our Facebook with pictures and stories about our wishes for the New Year. There is an air of great expectations.
Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.”
As we dream and envision, make decisions and take steps forward, make plans and develop strategies for the New Year, let’s remember to include God and His purposes in our planning. Our plans without God’s approval will falter. 2012 could be another year wasted without considering God’s purposes. Only His purposes will prosper. Let’s have a successful year.
